Ni Una menos series

Women die disproportionately at the hands of men throughout much of Latin America. This series is based on common “machista” phrases that we hear on our everyday lives and given a twist in order to inspire and empower women. By incorporating a big “NO,” highlighting the feminist fist, the original phrase is then portrayed as untrue. These posters were then shared on social media for the public to download and bring to the march in Mexico City, where thousands of demonstrators participated in the "Ni una menos" (Not One Less) march holding banners and posters condemning gender violence and femicide.

The original phrases are:

“Calladita te ves más bonita” (You look prettier when you’re quiet)

“Ella se lo buscó por vestirse así” (It’s her fault for dressing like that)

“Me golpeó porque yo lo provoqué” (He hit me because I provoked him")
